Legrand Legacy sort sur Nintendo Switch, PS4, XB1 le 24 janvier 2018

Another Indie, Semisoft, and Mayflower Entertainment announced that the release date for Legrand héritage is set to launch for the Xbox One, PS4, PC and the Nintendo Switch starting January 24th, 2018 for $24.99.

The crowdfunded title is keeping to its release window as announced earlier this year back in January. The JRPG-inspired title hearkens back to classics such as Légende de Legaia et Legend of Dragoon. The announcement for the release date was accompanied by a new trailer featuring cinematics that look like they come right out of the PS2 era. Check it out below.

Players follow the former gladiator named Finn, who ends up embarking on a journey to save his daughter. As is usual, Finn discovers that there’s a prophecy afoot, an impending world-altering danger, and a hidden power to unlock. Traditional JRPG tropes for a new generation of gamer.

For those of you who grew up on the classics during the PSX and PS2 era, you’ll find a lot of similarities with Legrand héritage, which features a diverse cast of characters, and a tactical combat system that relies on exploiting the weaknesses of enemy, utilizing crafted weapons to deal massive damage, and unlocking new magic abilities.

Iain Garner, director of developer relations at publishing outlet, Another Indie, mentioned in the press release that this is a love-letter to a bygone era, and designed to attract the kind of gamers who fell in love with many of the original PSX titles, saying…

“Legrand Legacy is packed with callbacks to classic JRPGs, from the modern take on original PlayStation style graphics to music, gameplay and mini-games,” “Most importantly, the story is the kind of epic RPG fans crave.”

The Hong Kong-based indie developer, Semisoft, is hoping to carve out a market for gamers seeking narrative-driven JRPGs that seem to have faded away from the main game consoles. But you’ll be able to rekindle that nostalgia come January 24th, 2018 next year for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
