Croixleur Sigma retiré de la liste de Steam en raison de l'expiration de sa licence

Nyu Media announced that Souvenir Circ’s Croixleur Sigma will soon be delisted from Steam due to their publishing license expiring to host the game on digital distribution platforms. The announcement came May 29th, 2019, but the delisting has yet to occur due to a hold up on Valve’s end.

Nyu Media informed the community about the delisting at the end of May with a post communautaire, affirmant ...

“If you have Croixleur Sigma in your wishlist, now might be a good time to pull the trigger! Our license to sell Croixleur Sigma has expired and delist the title from the Steam store and other distributors on June 1st.

“You can expect to see more Croixleur-related developments from souvenir circ. and PLAYISM in the near future, but Nyu Media is signing off.”

Croixleur Sigma - Bathe Together

There was a discounted sale on the game as part of the farewell, but the game was still available on and after June 1st, 2019, which led to Nyu Media making a follow-up post on Juin 2nd, 2019 where they explained that the delisting was out of their hands and it was up to Valve to remove the game from Steam, stating…

“The delisting request is with Valve and will be actioned as soon as they get to it.”

Apparently even delisting games is done on Valve time.

Nyu Media originally published Croixleur Sigma back in April of 2014 on Steam. The hack-and-slash, cooperative arena action game managed to find a small niche audience on Valve’s digital distribution platform. The game features a variety of monsters to battle, 24 different weapons to collect, a Challenge Mode, and even local cooperative play, which is always a huge bonus.

Apparently Nyu Media didn’t feel as if the price of licensing was worth renewing. It reminds me of the sort of game that would have found itself a sizable home on the PS2 some 15 or so years ago.

As it stands, the game is still available on the Steam store for $7.99 as of the writing of this article, but it will be delisted any second now so if you had plans on picking up a digital copy from Steam, now would probably be the best time to do so. Alternatively you can grab the game for the Nintendo Switch from eShop courtesy of publisher Active Gaming Media.
